It was very interesting and there was a re-renactment which was amazing. The staff are so genuine and friendly always chatting and are great to answer any questions. The view is amazing!

Before it was opened to the public I was quite angry that it was left to fall into the state of disrepair and neglect that it did. Since it has been restored and I appreciate that such work is ongoing, I have visitited it a number of times and am delighted with the work. It’s a pleasure to walk around and I enjoy a cup of coffee and a cake at the restaurant. The one suggestion I would like to make is that thos large cannon are dug up and restored to their mounts.

I especially loved the talk with the father ans son the volunteeres who work on the huge desplay in one of the buildings. It’s lovely to have a walk around and have a cup of coffee on the balcony with a nice view of the harbour. I wish more money was put into promoting the place as is’t run mainly thanks to the volunteeres who made it possible for tourists to see this beautiful place. The fort can definitelly compete with Fort Charles in Kinsale as it offers a lot. Thank you for the nice place to spend a family day.

The fact that we owe it to volunteers that we can access it and see the highest standard of restoration is amazing.
